Changing My Life With Pomodoro Technique

Eating a Frog with Pomodoro is technique which is used to overcome procrastination. Procrastination is act of delaying something and then doing it when the deadlines are very close. As Tim Urban describes in one of his famous TED talk about the mind of procrastinator and mind of a person who is not procrastinator. A person who is not a procrastinator he is a rational decision maker and makes his decisions according to his benefits and completes his tasks on time. And he became successful in life day by day. And in the mind of a procrastinator there is an Instant Gratification Monkey that is present in the mind at every time and whenever the person wants to do something on time the monkey makes him to do other entertaining things. And inn this way the things which are important in life, that person is not able to do those things. And when the deadlines for those things came up the pains master awakes up in the mind and the person must work for day and night to achieve his goals.As Dr. Amit Abraham said:

“Procrastination is also a subtle act of corruption, it corrupts valuable time”.

This technique is developed to reduce procrastination. The technique worked in that way that you have to select a project you want to do and then set a timer for 25 minutes and then start doing that work and during that time you have to write all the distractions that came into to your mind on the paper and start doing the work again. Take rest of 2–3 minutes after 25 minutes. Repeat this procedure for four times and every time write the distraction that came into your mind. And after four times repeating this process take rest of 10–15 minutes and do whatever you want to do eat, drink or something else. And after 15 minutes start that process again until you complete the work.

When I start this technique in the first 25 minutes many distractions came into my mind like checking my Facebook and WhatsApp, watching YouTube, watch some TikTok videos and to check my messages. But I continue working on my Amal Mega Project.it was very difficult for me to work continuously and still for 25 minutes and after 3 minutes break when I start working again it was more difficult for me because I was thinking I n mind that how I’m gone sit for 2–3 hours just working and doing nothing entertainment things in first two sessions I did not do well but in the third session of 25 minutes I was much focused and keen that now ill complete my work then I complete the work in 5 sessions.

At the end of this activity feel very happy and productive because I was thinking that according to my previous routine this work will cost me about 6–7 hours but by just doing it with this technique, I done it in Two and half hours. And it means that the additional time that I spent was on entertainment activities like watching YouTube in between doing a project and in this way the productivity also decrease, and you could not do things on your full intellect. So, this technique is very useful to get success in your life.

And I will start implementing this technique in my life from today as it helps me in accomplishing my goals earlier. Every project, assignment I will do from today ill implement this technique and I think with time all the distractions that came into my mind in the first time will be reduced so this technique could help me with my procrastination as I’m a procrastinator.As Mason Cooley said that:

“Procrastination makes easy things hard, hard things harder”.
